Humidity in South Florida is an AC problem first
Homeowners call us about dehumidifiers all the time. The room feels clammy even with the thermostat at 72. The windows fog. There's a musty smell in the hall closet. Almost every time, the answer isn't a separate appliance bolted onto the house — it's the air conditioning system that's already there, doing half its job.
An AC doesn't just cool air. It pulls moisture out of it and drains it away. When a system is oversized for the house, it satisfies the thermostat in short bursts and shuts off before it has removed much water. When the coil is dirty, the drain line is clogged, the refrigerant charge is off, or the ducts are leaking humid attic air into your supply, the same thing happens — cold rooms that still feel wet. Central Air Comfort is a cooling and ventilation contractor, so that's the angle we take on humidity: fix the system, and the moisture problem usually goes with it.

Owner Rudy Mendez has built the company around of residential and commercial HVAC work, and that experience shows up most in diagnosis — knowing the difference between a sizing mistake, a duct problem, and a coil that simply needs cleaning before anyone starts quoting equipment.
Written prices before the wrench comes out
Here is what we actually do when humidity is the complaint. Every one of these is a service we perform ourselves, with our own licensed HVAC technicians:
- AC repair — clogged condensate drains, dirty evaporator coils, low charge, failing blowers and the other faults that quietly kill a system's ability to dry the air.
- Preventative maintenance — coil and drain cleaning on a schedule so moisture removal doesn't fall off between summers.
- AC installation and replacement — right-sized equipment. An oversized unit is the single most common reason a South Florida house feels damp.
- Air quality — filtration and purification for the dust, mold spores and odors that damp air tends to carry.
- Air duct cleaning, maintenance and installation — sealing and redesigning duct runs so you stop conditioning the attic and drawing humid air into the house.
- Commercial AC installation, repair and maintenance — offices, retail and other spaces where humidity ruins stock, paperwork and comfort.
You get a price in writing before work starts, and 100% financing is available on installations if a replacement turns out to be the honest recommendation. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.

From your call to cold air in four steps
- You call or request a free quote. We ask what rooms feel damp, how old the system is, and whether the AC seems to run in short cycles.
- A technician inspects the equipment, the coil, the drain and the duct system — not just the thermostat reading.
- You get the findings and a written price. If more than one fix would work, you hear both options and what each one costs.
- We do the work and confirm the results, whether that's a cleaned coil, a sealed duct run, or a properly sized replacement system.

What AC repair actually costs in Hialeah Gardens
Repair costs vary with the issue, the parts needed and the type of system you have. A blocked condensate drain is a small job; a failed compressor is not. That's exactly why we diagnose first and quote second, instead of reciting a number over the phone that we'd have to revise once we're standing at the unit.
