Air conditioners in Dade and Broward work harder than almost anywhere else in the country. Heat, salt air and humidity run through your equipment nine or ten months a year, and a system that never gets looked at will eventually quit on the hottest afternoon of the summer. Central Air Comfort has spent keeping residential and commercial systems running across Hialeah Gardens and South Florida, and most of the emergency calls we take could have been avoided with an hour of attention months earlier.
What you can do between service visits
None of this requires tools or training. It is the short list owner Rudy Mendez gives customers who ask how to keep their system healthy between professional visits.
- Change the air filter every 30 to 60 days. In a house with pets or ongoing construction dust, check it monthly — a clogged filter starves the blower and drives up your power bill.
- Keep two feet of clear space around the outdoor condenser. Trim back hedges, move the trash bins, and rinse leaves and grass clippings off the fins with a garden hose.
- Pour a cup of distilled vinegar down the condensate drain line every few months. A blocked line is the number one cause of the water stains we find on ceilings and closet floors.
- Listen and smell. Rattles, grinding, a musty odor or a burning smell mean something is wrong now, not later.
- Watch your electric bill. A sudden jump with no change in habits usually points to low refrigerant or a failing component.
- Leave the thermostat alone during heat waves. Setting it to 68 will not cool the house faster; it just runs the compressor longer than it needs to.

What our technicians check on a maintenance call
A real tune-up is not a quick look and a signature. Our licensed HVAC technicians work through the whole system, indoor and outdoor units both, and tell you plainly what they found.
- Thermostat calibration and cycle testing
- Evaporator and condenser coil cleaning
- Filter replacement or cleaning
- Refrigerant pressure readings
- Lubrication of moving parts
- Ductwork inspected for leaks and airflow restrictions
- Condensate drain line cleared and flushed
- Full performance test with temperature split readings
Every visit ends with a written summary of what we did, what we found, and what — if anything — needs attention. If a repair is needed, you get the price before the wrench comes out. Nothing gets replaced without your approval.
From your call to cold air in four steps
- You call or message us. We ask what the system is doing, how old it is, and whether anyone is uncomfortable right now. Same Day HVAC Services are available when the situation calls for it.
- We schedule a window that works for you, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm.
- A technician arrives, inspects the equipment and walks you through the findings in plain language with a written price.
- We complete the work, test the system with you there, and leave the space as clean as we found it.
Thank you Central Air Comfort Inc for the outstanding service! After getting several quotes, we chose them because they offered the best value and exceeded our expectations.
That kind of feedback is why we hold a rating of 5 out of 5 from 42 reviews. Another customer put it more simply: "Rudy did an exceptional job on our system."
